Russia's Roscosmos State Space Corporation revealed on Saturday it detected what it described as an "abnormal situation" at its moon-mission unmanned spacecraft Luna-25.
"Thrust was released to transfer the probe onto the pre-landing orbit," the agency's statement read. "During the operation, an emergency situation occurred on board the automatic station, which did not allow the carrying out of the maneuver within the specified conditions."
The statement did not specify if the event affected the aircraft's landing schedule or not. Luna-25, Russia's first lunar mission in over 50 years, was launched from the Vostochny Cosmodrome earlier this week.
