Russia's Roscosmos State Space Corporation said on Sunday in a Telegram post that according to a preliminary analysis, it seems that its moon-mission unmanned spacecraft Luna-25 has collided "with the lunar surface."
A day prior, "communication with Luna-25 was interrupted," Roscosmos noted, adding that "the measures taken on August 19 and 20 to search for the device and get into contact with it did not produce any results."
Roscosmos said that a "specially formed interdepartmental commission" will be conducting an investigation into the possible reasons for the crash.
