Japanese and South Korean vice foreign ministers will meet in Seoul for the first time in nine years, South Korean news agency Yonhap reported on Thursday. Japanese Vice Foreign Minister Masataka Okano will arrive later in the day for a "strategic dialogue" with Vice Foreign Minister Chang Ho-jin, the South Korean Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The talks are expected to include bilateral and regional issues, as well as international developments. Okano should also visit South Korean Foreign Minister Park Jin.
