Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland President Loretta Mester declared Friday that the Federal Reserve is at or very close to its hiking peak.
"We've made progress, but there should be no doubt we're going to do it right," Mester said in an interview with CNN while adding that even though "it's going to take a couple more years" to reach that point, "the economy will be in a stronger place and more resilient."
Commenting on the latest employment report, Mester conveyed that the figures are consistent with the existing view of the labor market. At the same time, she reiterated that the Fed's next rate hike will depend on the upcoming data.
