Slovakia's new Prime Minister Robert Fico (pictured) confirmed on Thursday that his government will stop providing weapons and other military equipment to Ukraine.
Speaking before the parliamentary committee for European affairs, Fico noted his country still supports sending humanitarian aid to Kiev and pointed out that he sees an immediate stop to military operations as the best solution for Ukraine. "The European Union should transform itself from a supplier of weapons to peacemakers," he underscored. Fico revealed he would oppose introducing sanctions against Russia before their economic consequences are assessed.
Ukraine is not ready to join the European Union and should not become a NATO member, according to Fico.
