Chinese President Xi Jinping and his United States counterpart Joe Biden are expected to pledge to prohibit the application of artificial intelligence technologies in weapons such as drones or nuclear arms, Ednews reports that the South China Morning Post reported on Saturday.
The talks between the two delegations in California next week will likely put an emphasis on that and other risks associated with AI that are of concern to both sides, according to two unidentified sources briefed on the plans.
The bilateral discussions are also supposedly expected to revolve around topics such as Taiwan, Israel, Ukraine, as well as flights between China and the US, fentanyl and public health.
