In the written statement made by NATO's Peace Force in Kosovo (KFOR), it was reported that the Turkish soldier on duty in the Gilan Liaison Observation Team died during his sleep.
The statement stated that the cause of death of the Turkish soldier has not yet been confirmed.
In addition, the condolence message of KFOR Commander Major General Özkan Ulutaş was also shared in the statement.
In his message, Ulutaş said, "I express my sincere condolences for this tragic loss. My thoughts are with the family members and friends of the deceased soldier. His loss is felt throughout the entire KFOR community. We will honor his memory with our unwavering commitment to KFOR's mission." he said.
Note that, by the decision of the United Nations Security Council to ensure security and stability, KFOR, which started its duty in Kosovo on June 12, 1999, has more than 4,500 international military personnel from 27 countries, including 21 NATO members and 6 non-NATO partner countries.
