Al Jazeera Media Network strongly condemns the baseless accusations of the Israeli occupation army.
These accusations are attempts to justify the crimes committed against Al-Jazeera journalists and cameramen in Gaza, including the recent killing of cameraman Ahmed Wishah.
Since October 2023, Israel has been continuously making false claims and baseless accusations against Al Jazeera staff members as part of a smear and incitement campaign. The network views this smear campaign as a blatant and fruitless attempt to justify the deliberate targeting of journalists and cameramen whose only “crime” is to document and report to the world the genocide allegedly committed by the Israeli occupation forces in the Gaza Strip. Such initiatives cannot deceive anyone or hide the truths that the world is witnessing.
Al Jazeera calls on press freedom organizations and people of conscience around the world to take urgent measures to ensure the protection and safety of all journalists working in the Gaza Strip. This is vital to allowing journalists to carry out their professional activities free from threats, pressure and violence.
