A few days ago, the US government has imposed new sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran. It was not a surprise if considering the Trump’s policy regarding Iran. He warned Iran that that will take revenge after its ballistic missile tests on January 29, and its support to shiite rebels called houthis in Yemen.
This time sanctions consider an asset freezing (if those have in the US) as well as prohibits the entry to the country and the activity with American citizens and companies of those who are subjected sanctions. Some Iranian companies have been imposed sanctions for being related to Iran's ballistic missile program furthermore accused in supporting terrorism.
Iran's position in nuclear task toughened by Mahmud Ahmadinejad’s took the office in 2005. He announced to create a full nuclear cycle within uranium enrichment and that caused the warning of international community.
In result, the United States gave his reaction to its nuclear policy by imposing sanctions on Iran.
And the next year “the P5” including France, Germany, Great Britain as well as the United States, Russia and China started negotiations with Iran.
The tensions between the parties diminished in the result of president-elect Hasan Ruhani’s political course. Finally, on July 15, in 2015 a historical agreement related Iran’s nuclear program was reached in exchange of lifting the sanctions. According to the nuclear deal, Iran should permit the IAEA observers to its nuclear objects and western countries would lift sanctions gradually. The economical sanctions of the UN Security Council and the US had been lifted after the Council approved the agreement.
At the time Ruhani considered mediation within “the P5+1” as a great achievement and expressed that the plan of those who pretended Iran to obtain nuclear weapon didn’t work.
Iran reviews using nuclear for peaceful purposes as a state’s legal right however western countries consider his nuclear program as a military component serving to acquire a nuclear weapon.
The lifting of sanctions was’t accepted absolutely. Almost half of republican senators criticized the nuclear deal. They claimed that after the agreement sign that Iran will profit “hundreds of dollars”, will possess weapons, as well as ballistic missiles, develop uranium enrichment, so will close the US’s hands and that the next president will oppose this.
During his election campaign Trump supported this position stating that he will rejection of nuclear deal with Iran will be priority in his political course and that Iran will make 150 billion dollars and spend this money on terrorism. He also mentioned nuclear deal with Iran to be threating for Israel.
Strengthening of sanctions to Iran caused the conflict to develop. Because Israel that has problems with most of the neighboring countries and is the only country owning nuclear weapon in the Middle East would suffer from that.
The Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu sharply criticized nuclear deal for its putting restrictions on purpose to lift them if terms is fulfilled and that it would serve for the improvement of terrorism.
Ali Akbar Salehi, the head of the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization commenting on Trump’s position stated that if Trump violates the nuclear deal Iran will develop his nuclear research.
Both parties of the US Congress supported Trump in punishment for ballistic missile tests. Security Council called Iran not to hold such tests, supporting the nuclear deal. However Iran making the US sanctions principal for him violated embargoes regularly assuring Russia’s diplomatic efforts.
And in conclusion, the politicians and international observers hope all the parties have enough strength and presage to soften the disagreements instead of straining the situation as because there is enough bloodshed in the Middle East.
We are also inclined to believe that, despite the predictions, the disagreement among Iran, Israel and US will not grow.
