The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict has always been on the top of the agenda of Azerbaijan and Armenia. The political analysts from both sides are always attempting to analyze the actions of political leaders for this conflict, Eurasia Diary reports citing 

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev's stance on Karabakh has always been stable, but the Armenian Prime Minister's position has not been the same. It makes confusion for understanding Pashinyan's political course. Eurasia Diary shares the opinions of Azerbaijani and Armenian political analysts which have been posted in their Facebook account.

Azerbaijani Political analyst Elkhan Shahinoglu, the head of Atlas Research Center thinks that Pashinyan is not ready to compromise in Nagorno-Karabakh talks. 

The analyst considers that in his recent statement about Sargisyan’s wish to give back seven districts, Pashinyan wants to weaken the Karabakh clan’s position in Armenia. Pashinyan wants to convince Armenian society that previous authority wants “to sell Karabakh.”

 “Pashinyan often comes to Nagorno-Karabakh to show that he will not return the territories around Nagorno-Karabakh without the separatists' consent,” Shahinoglu said.

Andranik Tevanyan, the director of the Yerevan-based think-tank Politeconomy thinks that Pashinyan avoids bearing responsibility for the results of talks.

″The truth is that Pashinyan does not sincerely consider [the process] to be real negotiations. Moreover, he is doing everything possible to avoid participation in the talks to later lay the entire responsibility to the people of Karabakh,″ he says, urging the prime minister to make his position clear without ″beating about the bush″.

Azerbaijani and Armenian Foreign Minister held a meeting in Geneva for almost 11 hours. But there is no significant development in the negotiation process. Such ongoings will undermine the peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
