The officials in charge of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) have no plans to evacuate staff at the station or any citizens in the area, despite reports of increased radiation levels in parts of Ukraine, TASS reported, citing Yury Chernichuk, the plant's directorç EDnews informs.
The NPP is reportedly doing everything necessary to ensure nuclear safety and all units have been stopped, with equipment serviced in accordance with strict control of radiation safety standards.
The comes amid rumors of a potential nuclear accident at the plant, which is the largest of its kind in Europe.
