The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Tuesday it conducted strikes against Hezbollah in response to the group's attacks on an Israeli aerial surveillance base.
"This morning, about 35 launches were detected that crossed the territory of Lebanon towards the Mount Miron area in the north of the country, there were no casualties and no damage was caused to the air control unit in the area," IDF said following Hezbollah's attacks. "In response to those launches, fighter jets attacked and destroyed a military site and a number of military infrastructures of the Hezbollah terrorist organization in the areas of Alhania, Jabeshit, Basriya and Al-Mansouri a short time ago. In addition, IDF forces attacked with artillery to remove a threat in the Yaron area," it added.
Earlier, Hezbollah said it targeted the Mount Meron base in response to yesterday's Israeli attack that killed its senior commander Hassan Hussein Salami.
