An international conference titled “Media and Decolonization: Rising Voices, Strengthening Narratives” is being held in Baku under the organization of the Baku Initiative Group.
According to EDnews, the event marks the first conference of its kind in Azerbaijan to bring together media representatives from former and current colonial territories. Participants include heads and representatives of media organizations, journalists, political analysts, members of diaspora organizations, media and communications experts, researchers, diplomats, government officials, and representatives of local media outlets.
The conference provides a platform for discussions on the role of the media in amplifying the voices of peoples and ethnic communities affected by neocolonialism, countering disinformation, the responsible use of artificial intelligence in journalism, and strengthening international cooperation and coordination among media professionals.
