A photodocumentary exhibition "Afghanistan is our memory and pain", dedicated to the withdrawal of Soviet army from Afghanistan in 1989, will be open tomorrow at Frunze House Museum in Bishkek.
The press service of the Ministry of Culture reports that, this year turns 28 years since the Soviet Union withdrew its troops from Afghanistan. More than seven thousand people from Kyrgyzstan participated in the Afghan war. 249 people were killed, 4 missing.
"The materials of the exhibition tell about the Afghan war - the causes of the war, the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan, about veterans from Kyrgyzstan and many other participants. Each of them has their own history, memories," the report said.
