On May 19 at 16:00, the exhibition of the Belarusian National Historical and Cultural Reserve Museum “Nesvizh” entitled “Nesvizh – World Cultural Heritage” will open at the Azerbaijan National Art Museum. The exhibition will be held jointly by the Azerbaijan National Art Museum and the “Nesvizh” Reserve Museum with the support of the Ministries of Culture of Azerbaijan and Belarus.
“EDnews” reports that the exhibition will feature 23 tablets depicting the interiors and exteriors of the Nesvizh Castle, which currently houses the museum, dating back to the 16th–18th centuries. Also, photos of the exhibition halls of the castle will be displayed as part of the exhibition and a video clip will be presented.
An interactive communication-based excursion called “Traditions of Palace Banquets” will be organized for visitors. The program includes sections on dance art, an integral part of palace events, the exoticism of palace cuisine, the peculiarities of organizing princely hunts, as well as intellectual entertainment and games.
The Nesvizh Castle, the residence of the wealthy Radziwill family of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, is one of the rare examples of a harmonious combination of Renaissance beauty, Baroque dynamics and classical order. This outstanding architectural monument is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List and is considered a living cultural encyclopedia of both Belarus and Europe as a whole.Today, the Nesvizh Castle and its approximately fifty museum halls are considered a unique place demonstrating the achievements of both ancient and modern Belarusian culture.
