"Although the trade turnover between Turkey and Azerbaijan is estimated at 7.5 billion dollars, this figure may be higher. After the opening of the Zangezur corridor, the trade turnover is expected to increase to 15 billion dollars.
These views were voiced by Turkish economic expert Kerem Karabulut. He said this during his statement to Ednews. According to him, the two countries will be each other's biggest economic partners in the near future.
"Technological researches to be conducted in the university to be created jointly, as well as potentiation of these technologies, can further increase the numbers.
The opening of the Zangezur Corridor will speed up the construction of Karabakh and strengthen Turkey's economic position in the world. In this regard, official Ankara is very interested in the start of the corridor. With this project, both countries will gain many times more profit.
The expert emphasized what specific projects can be created between Turkey and Azerbaijan with the opening of the Zangezur corridor.
"After the Zangezur corridor, the first planned project is to create an agro-industrial corridor between Nakhchivan and Turkey. If this corridor exists now, it should be specialized in the production of agricultural products. Thus, agricultural products will be exported from here to foreign countries.
Another potential is to create a tourism line connecting Mount Ararat and Karabakh. With this project, the interest of both countries as well as tourists from other countries can be attracted here. With this project, socio-economic relations between the countries will be strengthened and an additional area of income will be created.
If Azerbaijan and Turkey are able to create "Caucasus Trade Union" or "Silk Road" organizations in the region like the European Union, they will get very significant gains."
