Sahiba Gafarova Attends the Opening Ceremony of the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union

The Speaker of the Milli Majlis, Sahiba Gafarova, has participated in the opening ceremony of the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.

This information was provided to “EDnews” by the Press and Public Relations Department of the Milli Majlis.

“The opening ceremony of the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union was held in Tashkent. The Speaker of the Milli Majlis, Sahiba Gafarova, attended the ceremony,” the statement said.

During the event, the Chairman of the Senate of the Supreme Assembly of Uzbekistan, Tanzila Narbayeva, the President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Tulia Akson, and the Secretary General of the organization, Martin Chungong, greeted the participants and shared their thoughts on the relevance of the topics to be discussed within the framework of the Assembly.

It is noteworthy that Speaker Sahiba Gafarova is also scheduled to address the Assembly. The Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament is also holding bilateral meetings with the heads of the legislative bodies of several countries during the event.
