This approach aims to balance economic growth with sustainability and resilience.
Azerbaijan is actively enhancing its economic and diplomatic engagements within the Global South. By fostering closer relationships with Central Asian countries, Turkey, Pakistan, and Iran, Azerbaijan is positioning itself as a key player in regional cooperation and economic integration. This includes participation in initiatives like the Economic Cooperation Organization and the revitalization of trade routes reminiscent of the ancient Silk Road.
Furthermore, Azerbaijan’s leadership in the Non-Aligned Movement from 2019 to 2023 underscores its commitment to representing the interests of developing nations and advocating for a more equitable global order. In summary, as the Global South gains prominence in the international arena, Azerbaijan is strategically aligning itself to contribute to and benefit from this emerging economic and geopolitical landscape.
