Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, within the framework of the 17th summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization held in the city of Khankandi, EDnews reports, citing the Azerbaijani MFA.
During the meeting, the role and importance of high-level mutual visits and contacts between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan in the further development of the bilateral relations were discussed.
Regional security issues, cooperation within international organizations, as well as on the Caspian Sea, were also discussed.
Views were exchanged on the possibilities of expanding cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, energy, transport, humanitarian and culture.
A consensus was expressed that the traditional friendly and fraternal relations that have historically existed between the two nations will further develop on the basis of partnership relations between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan.
Views were also exchanged during the meeting on other bilateral and multilateral issues of mutual interest.
