Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar on the sidelines of the 17th Economic Cooperation Organization summit in Khankandi, EDnews reports, citing Azerbaijan's MFA.
As noted, the current state of the Azerbaijan-Pakistan strategic partnership, opportunities for expanding bilateral and multilateral cooperation were discussed at the meeting.
It was emphasized that the dynamics of recent high-level mutual visits and the intensity of the political dialogue have played a significant role in moving the bilateral relations to a new stage and further enriching them.
During the meeting, the importance of deepening cooperation in economic relations, trade, investment, energy security, transport and other promising areas was emphasized.
Views were exchanged on regional developments, challenges and opportunities, and consensus was expressed that, as in the bilateral format, Azerbaijan and Pakistan have always supported each other's legitimate interests on regional issues and will continue mutually beneficial cooperation for the benefit of the two states and peoples.
The ministers then had a broad exchange of views on initiatives within the framework of Pakistan's chairmanship of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for July.
The meeting also focused on other bilateral and international issues of mutual interest.
