At the end of last year, Azerbaijani Parliament adopted a draft law on the establishment of the embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the state of Israel (Tel Aviv city). Later, President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree appointing Mukhtar Mammadov as Baku's first envoy to Israel after 30 years of bilateral relations.
Today, after a long time, the opening of the Azerbaijani embassy in Tel Aviv took place. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov, a group of deputies of the Milli Majlis and other representatives will take part in the opening ceremony. The opening of the Azerbaijani embassy has been held in Tel Aviv.
Why did not the Embassy open for a long time? What was the reason for the opening of Azerbaijani Embassy in Israel? How will the opening of the embassy affect the development of relations between the two countries? With that, what kind of economic cooperation between the two countries can take place?
Former CEO and one of the founders of the Chamber of Commerce, businessperson Dr. Arie Mishne, answered all these questions at Ednews.
“There is a time to scatter stones and a time to collect them. Both Israel and Azerbaijan live in a complex geopolitical environment and conditions. Therefore, the announcement of the opening of the Embassy is an important but only the next step in the formalization of public relations between countries”
He said that before it there was the opening of the Israeli embassy in Baku, the liberation of Karabakh, the opening of a tourist office in Tel Aviv, official visits at various levels, etc.
According to him, the official opening of the embassy in Israel is an important step that demonstrates, first of all to the world, that the countries have already come a long way and formal paths are being established, there is a formal address of Azerbaijan in Israel. World experience shows that an active embassy greatly contributes to a positive image of the country among the population, maintains trade and cultural ties, etc.
