Yemen's Houthi rebel group claimed that they used naval missiles to hit the British oil ship Marlin Luanda on Friday that was moving in the Gulf of Aden, and provoking "the burning of the vessel."
Ednews reports that, Spokesperson of the Yemeni Armed Forces Yahya Sare'e said in X that this strike is a continuation of their attempt to support Palestinians amid Israel's hostility, to defend their country and to fight back the joint United States and United Kingdom "aggression."
"Yemeni Armed Forces persist with their military operations: enforcing a blockade on Israeli navigation in the Red and Arabian seas until a ceasefire is achieved in Gaza, and food and medicine are allowed into the besieged Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip," he added.
Earlier, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported an "attack" in the southeast of Yemen's port city of Aden.
