Today, 15 more NGOs have joined the Environmental Protection First Coalition which was established in August of 2023.
They are mostly organizations in the field of ecology and health, Ednews reports.
The coalition has announced continuous monitoring of the processes in Armenia's mining industry by all legal means, strengthening the fight against environmental violations as the main task. Representatives of well-known NGOs are represented in EPF. In the past period, the ecologically oriented NGOs of Armenia did not remain silent to the appeals of the Coalition, they showed solidarity.
EPF demands the Armenian government to open the doors of the mining industry enterprises, which have created an ecological and health crisis in the South Caucasus, for environmental monitoring.
Note that yesterday, NGOs from 22 countries of the world made a joint statement in support of this call of the "Environmental Protection First" Coalition.
The 49 foreign NGOs and eco-activists who signed the statement demanded environmental justice for the South Caucasus region, they demanded that Armenia immediately stop activities that damage the environment and fulfill its obligations arising from international conventions.
