In January-May 2025, the total number of Azerbaijani citizens traveling abroad decreased by 0.1% compared to the same period last year, to 807,600 people, Ednews reports citing the State Statistical Committee.
Some 36.5% of them traveled to Türkiye, 16.4% to Russia, 11% to Georgia, 11% to Iran, and 25.1% to other countries, with 66.8% of them being men and 33.2% being women.
Compared to a year ago, the number of Azerbaijani citizens traveling to Iran increased by 27.3%, the number of those traveling to Georgia increased by 22.8%, the number of those traveling to Türkiye decreased by 6.2%, and the number of those traveling to Russia decreased by 25.3%.
During the reporting period, 67.8% of Azerbaijani citizens traveling abroad used air transport, 30% used rail and road transport, and 2.2% used sea transport.
