Neurocolonialism infiltrates the human mind like a parasite, turning entire nations into hostages of foreign will, public activist Franco Lollia said at the international conference “Towards the Decolonization of Guadeloupe: Challenges and Prospects” held in Baku.
He noted that neurocolonialism represents a new, hidden form of imperialism aimed not at territorial domination but at controlling the consciousness of nations.
According to Lollia, neurocolonialism is a complex system of influence, where imposed ideas, values, and interpretations of history are presented as objective truth and progress, while in reality, they serve as an extension of the imperial agenda.
He emphasized that this phenomenon operates unnoticed, integrating external oppression and injustices into social and cultural norms.
“Neuroimperialism is disguised as modernity — it dresses itself in a suit and enters society as something acceptable. But its essence is manipulation of consciousness. It acts like the parasite from the story of the ant — it penetrates the brain and takes full control of actions. As a result, the ant no longer belongs to itself. Likewise, nations become prisoners of someone else’s will,” he added.
