Ednews reports that the International Election Observation Mission of the OSCE is currently in a press conference regarding the snap Azerbaidjan presidential elections that occured on Wednesday 7th 2024.
The OSCE team are presenting their conclusions to the observation made in Azerbaijan before and during the elections.
The observers were tasked to closely follow the fundamental components of the election such as:
election-related legislation and its implementation
respect for fundamental freedoms
the work of election administration
voter registration
candidate registration
campaign activities and financing
media environment and media coverage of the election
the resolution of election-related disputes
The ODIHR is now issuing a statement of preliminary findings and conclusions at the press conference. A final report on the observation of the entire electoral process will be issued some months after the end of the election process.
