Members of the Political and Security Committee of the Council of the European Union (EU) are scheduled to visit Armenia, sparking discussions regarding the potential impact on regional dynamics, particularly the Armenian-Azerbaijani peace process.

Umud Mirzayev, President of the International Eurasia Press Fund, shared his insights with Ednews regarding the EU's visit and its implications. Mirzayev acknowledged the significance of such visits in principle, emphasizing the potential for clarification on pertinent issues if conducted with genuine intentions.

Mr. Mirzayev raised concerns about the historical context of conflicts in the South Caucasus, attributing roots of ethnic conflicts and humanitarian crises to Armenia, its separatist movements, and its diaspora. He underscored the devastating consequences of Armenian actions, particularly in the Nagorno-Karabakh region, including widespread destruction, displacement, and environmental degradation.

Expressing disappointment with past missions to Armenia, the head of the organization urged for a departure from the norm, advocating for a more comprehensive assessment of Armenian actions in Azerbaijan. He emphasized the need for EU representatives to witness firsthand the aftermath of Armenian vandalism and draw informed conclusions.
