Zhu Fenglian, spokesperson for China's State Council Office for Taiwan Affairs, on Tuesday urged the United States to halt its military support for Taiwan, emphasizing the need to refrain from backing the island's independence aspirations.
Speaking at a briefing, she criticized the recent approval by the US Senate of a bill sanctioning military aid to Taiwan, Ednews informs.
"We urge the US to take tangible steps to honor its pledge against supporting Taiwan's independence and cease all forms of military assistance to the island," Zhu Fenglian remarked.
