Deputy Secretary General of Hezbollah Naim Kassem said on Friday in an interview with Sputnik the organization is not expecting the conflict with Israel to escalate into a full-blown war, although he said Hezbollah is prepared for that outcome as well. “Hamas will not stop if Israel doesn’t stop, and the most likely outcome for the war ending is through an agreement," he said and added he expects Israel to eventually end the war in Gaza. Kassem cited "internal upheaval" as the main reason for potentially prompting Israel to come to the negotiating table, Ednews reports,
Recently, however, Israel announced it successfully destroyed 50 targets in Gaza in which Hamas fighters were eliminated and Hezbollah launched over 200 rockets at northern Israel in response to the Israeli strike killing its unit commander.
