Russia is ready to participate in the settlement between Baku and Yerevan on those issues that are in demand by both parties, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Baku, Ednews informs.
"Russia's historical involvement in the situation in the South Caucasus, and in the last few years, dictates to us the need to participate in these events, of course, to the extent that this is required by the parties," he noted.
He also stressed that after his visit to Azerbaijan, he will discuss the results of the talks with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
"Of course, after my visit to Azerbaijan, I will contact Prime Minister Pashinyan and tell him about the results of our negotiations," Putin added.
Putin also said that Russia would be glad "if it can do something to sign peace and for the demarcation of the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan."
