US President Donald Trump said Iran will not receive sanctions relief unless it fully complies with the terms of the agreement reached with Washington.
Speaking alongside French President Emmanuel Macron in France, Trump stressed that any easing of sanctions would depend on Tehran’s actions.
“Iran will only receive sanctions relief if they do what they’re supposed to do,” Trump said.
“It’s really a behavioural thing. If they do what they’re supposed to do, that starts taking effect,” he added.
Trump’s remarks come amid growing international attention on the implementation of the US-Iran agreement, which includes commitments aimed at reducing regional tensions and addressing concerns over Iran’s nuclear programme.
