In Georgia, Saakashvili’s party will not be able to participate in elections.
The “United National Movement” party, founded by Georgia’s former president Mikheil Saakashvili, along with its affiliated parties, will be declared unconstitutional and will no longer be able to participate in elections.
According to local media “Report,” Mamuka Mdinaradze, the executive secretary of the ruling “Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia” party, stated this during a briefing.
“At this stage, it is clear that the commission’s opinion will serve as a solid legal basis for declaring these parties unconstitutional, and I am confident that the Constitutional Court will make an objective decision,” Mdinaradze said.
As a result, the “United National Movement” and its affiliated parties will not be able to participate in not only local self-government elections but any other elections.
