China's International Lunar Research Station can expand cooperation opportunities with Azerbaijan in the space field.
EDnews informs that, this was stated by Lin Fei, deputy director of the International Cooperation Center of the Deep Space Research Innovation Center of the China National Space Administration, at the Space Technology Conference held in Baku.
According to him, since 2004, China has carried out 9 successful missions within the framework of the lunar program, covering the stages of orbiting, landing and returning samples to Earth: "Last year, for the first time, samples were collected from the far side of the Moon and brought to Earth. Currently, we are entering a new stage in the study of the Moon. The main goal at this stage is to expand the opportunities for scientific and technological cooperation with other countries, in addition to using resources and building infrastructure."
L. Fey noted that one of the most important initiatives to be implemented in this framework is the International Lunar Research Station project: "The station will be located on the lunar surface and in orbit and will create opportunities for energy supply, communications, scientific research, resource utilization and technological testing. The project is open to international cooperation, and in the future there are opportunities for Azerbaijan to participate in this initiative."
He added that Azerbaijan is taking serious steps in the space field: international partnerships are being established through "Azercosmos", satellite missions and technological research are expanding. Such projects provide new opportunities in terms of gaining technological experience, participating in scientific research and strengthening strategic partnerships."
