Andrea Bocelli will perform in Strictly Come Dancing tonight with his son Matteo Bocelli.

The Italian tenor performed Panis Angelicus at the Royal Wedding of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank and performed two sell-out nights at London's O2 Arena recently.

This month, Andrea smashed a 20-year UK chart record with his new album Si, featuring Ed Sheeran and Josh Groban.

The singer-songwriter has had a very long and successful career - so what is his net worth?

Andrea has a net worth of ¢40 million (£31 million), according to celebritynetworth.com.

Andrea has sold more than 90 million records and has had 15 solo studio albums during his impressive career.

He was born with poor eyesight before being diagnosed with congenital glaucoma, losing his sight age 12.

He is the first solo opera singer to receive a YouTube Gold Play Button and, on top of this achievement, he has also accumulated 370 million views globally on YouTube over the past 12 months.

The tenor’s new album makes Andrea Bocelli the first classical vocalist to score a chart-topping album since 1996, when Luciano Pavarotti, Jose Carreras, and Placido Domingo hit Number One with The Three Tenors in Concert.

Bocelli couldn't contain his joy at the news: "Life never ceases to amaze,” he said.

“I would never have imagined achieving this, even in a country that welcomed me from the very beginning."

"Yet beyond the numbers and the charts, what really counts is the affection of an audience – the handshakes, the smiles, the applause.

"My heartfelt thanks to all those people who wanted to reward my latest effort. A big thank you also on behalf of my little, great Matteo who, these days, has been living by my side – an indescribable experience."

Last year, Bocelli had to be airlifted to hospital after falling off a horse and hitting his head.

Andrea - who is known to lead a very active lifestyle, with him also being a lover of windsurfing, skiing and bike riding - took to Twitter to reassure his fans that he was ok after the news emerged online.

In today’s Strictly, Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman reveal which two couples face each other in the dance-off.

There is also a tribute to the women who have served in the RAF.

Next week, in the world-famous Blackpool Tower Ballroom, hitmaker Gloria Estefan will perform.
