On June 16, the Board of Trustees of the International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF) held its regular meeting to review the organization's current activities, ongoing projects, and future development plans.
EDnews reports that the meeting was attended by Board Chairman Chingiz Abdullayev, board members Rashad Majid, Aflatun Amashov, Vagif Bahmanli, and IEPF President Umud Mirzayev. Board member Ayseba Umutlu, who is based in Doha, Qatar, joined the session online.
During the meeting, board members highly commended the events organized by IEPF within the framework of the 13th World Urban Forum (WUF13), held in Azerbaijan in May 2026. The discussions focused on two key themes: “Urban Planning Challenges in Mine-Contaminated Areas” and “Transition to a Circular and Green Economy: Challenges and Opportunities for Sustainable Urban Development.”
The Board also reviewed the “Support for Combating the Threat of Mines and Explosive Ordnance” project, which IEPF plans to implement under the grant competition titled “Initiatives Addressing the Problem of Mines and Unexploded Military Ordnance,” jointly announced by the State Support Agency for Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Karabakh Revival Fund. The Board considered it appropriate to launch the project.
Another item on the agenda was the participation of an IEPF delegation in the Social Business Forum, scheduled to take place in Bangladesh on June 27–28, 2026. Participants emphasized the forum’s importance for expanding IEPF’s international partnerships, strengthening global cooperation, and promoting the organization’s social business initiatives on an international platform.
The meeting also focused on efforts to enhance the institutional and professional capacities of IEPF staff. Following discussions, several institutional development documents were approved, including the “Framework Document on the Use of Institutional Support Funds.”
Board members also praised training sessions conducted by professional trainer and international expert Sahib Mammadov on event planning, organization and management, as well as occupational safety and health issues.
At the conclusion of the meeting, relevant decisions were adopted on all agenda items, and instructions were issued to the IEPF leadership and relevant departments regarding the implementation of planned activities.
