IEPF held a “Top Tips For Young Aspiring Publicists” workshop at Baku Oxford School - PHOTOS

In the framework of a collaborative project called “A World on the Margins” between Enrichment sts of Baku-Oxford School and International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF), “Top Tips For Young Aspiring Publicists” workshop was organized for students of the school. The workshop was carried out by a specially invited guest, experienced publicist, assistant to the president of the IEPF, Anastasia Lavrina, Eurasia Diary informs.

Head of Enrichment Department at Baku-Oxford School Mehriban Taghiyeva, made a short introductory speech and spoke about the collaborative project. The aim of the project is to encourage young learners to do independent research and work on their cognitive thinking abilities.

Anastasia Lavrina started her presentation with short information about the International Eurasia Press Fund, where the media and civil society development is one of the key working directions. She also spoke about international analytical information gateway “Eurasia Diary” operating under the auspices of the IEPF.

The students were informed about the possibility to publish their articles in “Eurasia Diary” after making some updates.

During the presentation, Lavrina highlighted the main simple steps for journalistic writing and the most common mistakes being done during the research process.

Some papers of the students prepared in the framework of the project were discussed.

In the end, Anastasia Lavrina got acquainted with the students' art exhibition at Baku-Oxford School.

The age of students joining this project varies from 12 to 18. These are international students of the school from the following countries: Mexico, Italy, France, Netherlands, Russia, Iran, Turkey, China, Germany, Kazakhstan, UK, Philippines, India, Pakistan and others.

The Enrichment Programme motivates young people to become more effective learners through activities which enrich their curriculum, improve key skills and raise achievement. These activities take place both in and out of school premises.
