Today, 12 August, is an International Youth Day. In 1999, the General Assembly endorsed the recommendation made by the  World Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth that 12 August be declared International Youth Day.

EDNews informs that on this special occasion Umud Mirzayev, a president of Azerbaijani based internaional organization, the International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF), which enjoys a General Consultative Status with UN ECOSOC, congratulated young people.

He said that the IEPF has always supported the idea of close work with youth, supporting new and creative ideas.

"Young people are powerful agents of change and progress when they are educated and empowered to participate in decision-making.

The organization successfully implements a number of humanitarian projects with international and locally-based organizations, aimed to support and empower the youth. Together with UNICEF, the IEPF developed Azerbaijan Youth Advocacy Program that supports development of young generation in different regions, including the war-affected districts.

Apart from that, the IEPF offers different training, workshop, education and internship programs for locals and foreigners. All of those, who come to our office, become the IEPF family members and we are keen to continue our collaboration with everyone in offering a future to the young.

During the pandemic time the work with interns transffered to online distant format", U.Mirzayev concluded.
