The IEPF President has congratulated the influential network of world media.

Although the media organisation had planned to hold a big event in Doha on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Al Jazeera media network, it has been postponed due to a pandemic raging around the world.

Along with the heads of the world's leading organisations, the President and the delegation of the International Eurasia Press Fund, which closely cooperates with Al Jazeera, have also been invited to the event. A special magazine has been published on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the organisation. The publication contains heartfelt words and congratulations from the world's most influential people.

The magazine features Mohamed Amin Al-Midani, President of the Arab Centre for International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights Education, Khalida Patel, Head of the International Press Institute, Guy Berger, UNESCO Director for Communication and Information Strategy and Policy, and Jim Boumelha, former President of the International Federation of Journalists. A congratulatory letter has been published from Dr. Rami Abdu, Financial Expert, Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor, and John Yearwood, Head of the School of Information Technology, Deakin University. The publication also includes a congratulatory letter from Umud Mirzayev, President of the International Eurasia Press Fund. Umud Mirzayev expressed his congratulations in the following words:

"Al Jazeera Media Network has celebrated 25 years anniversary. 25 years, which is equal to a quarter of a century, is enough time to express itself. In this regard, Al Jazeera Media Network, which has become one of the world's largest media outlets, has managed to go through the test of time. From the first day of its broadcasting as a news channel, it has stood by the truth, the truth and justice, citing reliable sources. That is why an honourable biography of Al Jazeera Media Network has been formed today. This is primarily due to its core law, which Al Jazeera Media Network has always cited, and its adherence to international law, declarations, conventions, ethical norms and values related to human rights and freedom of expression. The Al-Jazeera Media Network's Centre for Public Liberties and Human Rights is headed by Sami al-Hajj, a Guantanamo Bay detainee who has survived life's hardships and is known around the world as one of the symbols of freedom of speech. We have had a business relationship with this man, who is known in the world media community for his legendary biography, for almost a decade. Our personal acquaintance has been established at the World Congress of the International Press Institute in Cape Town. At that time, I was a member of the board of directors of the International Press Institute. Among the new members of the IPI's board of directors at the World Congress there was Sami Al-Hajj, a representative of Al Jazeera Media Network. During our joint activities with him in the organisation, we got to know each other better, and this acquaintance became the main basis for our cooperation.

The IEPF, of which I am the president today, also works closely with Al Jazeera Media Network. We have always shown solidarity with freedom of expression and human rights, made significant contributions to the organization of events, joint propaganda videos and films, and supported the dissemination of signature companies launched by Al Jazeera Media Network. Our many years of cooperation have made us many friends in Al Jazeera Media Network. I want to express with great gratitude that the problem of more than one million two hundred thousand people, including my family members, as a result of the occupation of Azerbaijani lands by Armenia, has always been in the focus of Al Jazeera Media. Al Jazeera Media Network was the first international media organisation to come to the region from both Armenia and Azerbaijan during the Second Karabakh War, which began on September 27, 2020. Al-Jazeera Media Network, which has been active in our region during the 44-day war, has once again proved its objectivity, impartiality and justice. One of the main topics on the agenda of Al Jazeera Media Network is the pollution of 12,000 square kilometers of our liberated territory in Karabakh with various types of mines. Among the many civilians killed in mine incidents in our liberated lands were two of our journalist colleagues who lost their lives in Kalbajar in June this year. We believe that drawing everyone's attention to this problem with the help of the Al Jazeera Centre for Public Liberties and Human Rights, and covering the incident involving our journalist colleagues, helped Armenia finally provide maps of minefields in the Aghdam and Fuzuli regions of Karabakh. The relationship between the Al Jazeera Media Network and the IEPF is based on great confidence and a desire to change the world for the better. In fact, we have become a coordinating face for Al Jazeera in the region.

In conclusion, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate everyone on the 25th anniversary of the Al Jazeera Media Network, from senior officials to ordinary staff, and thank you for your dedicated work for the well-being of the human race and the future of our world. "

Al Jazeera Media Network has been established on November 1, 1996 in Doha, Qatar, with the support of the Emir of Qatar Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. Being a satellite channel for Arabic news, it has later expanded to become an international media network.

After the events of September 11, 2001, the channel attracted more international attention. Al Jazeera competes with other Arabic-language international channels, including English-language channels such as CNN and Fox News.

Today, Al Jazeera Media Network has employed 4,000 staff from 70 different nationalities as well as owning more than 70 offices around the world. Al Jazeera Media Network cooperates with a number of UN organisations in Geneva - the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, the International Committee of the Red Cross, as well as the UN Training and Research Centre.
