On October 14, an event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the International Eurasia Press Fund was held at the "Hilton" hotel.
Ednews reports that Umud Mirzayev, the president of IEPF, spoke at the event and said:
"Dear friends, respectful event participants, I welcome each of you to the 30th anniversary event of the International Eurasia Press Fund. I am pleased to see here today our valuable friends from different countries, government officials, representatives of international organizations, embassies, local NGOs and media workers.
The International Eurasia Press Fund is an international non-governmental organization, which was established in 1992 by a group of journalists from different countries. The main purpose of the establishment of the organization was to organize the visits of international journalists and diplomats to conflict regions and conflict zones and to disseminate objective information about the developments in those areas. In 2007, IEPF received the Special Concultative status of the NGO Section of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), and in January 2014, it subsequently received the General Consultative status. It should be noted that IEPF is one of the only organizations in the post-Soviet region that has acquired this status.
On September 4 of this year, the International Eurasia Press Fund celebrated its 30th anniversary. This historic day is a very significant event for Azerbaijan's civil society as well as for us. During the past three decades, all the actions carried out by the organisation in accordance with its purpose and mission were closely connected with the processes taking place in Azerbaijan, in the region and in the world and were based on the enhancement of the welfare and progress of the peoples of the world, stability and comprehensive development.
While preparing the video material that you will watch now, I have once again witnessed how great and important things we have done for 30 years. It is not difficult to feel the role and position of IEPF in the society when we consider the difficult and honorable path we have passed so far.
Dear friends, it is a fact that the world is becoming a home for each of us day by day. We live on the same land, under the same sky, in the charm of the same nature. Could there be any serious reason than solidarity in a globalized world..?
It is the duty of everyone, regardless of their religion, language, race, gender, and geography to protect the whole of humanity. Because the world belongs to all of us."
