Within the framework of the "Show me Azerbaijan" project implemented by the Regional Centre for Eurasia of the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF), bloggers living abroad visited the city of Fuzuli, Karabakh region.

According to Ednews, the participants of the project prepared a review video of bloggers from Egypt, Iraq, USA, Kazakhstan, Portugal, Turkiye and Indonesia.

The bloggers witnessed the reconstruction work in the city, as well as the demining work in minefields and their threat to the civilian population. The organizers also told the guests that the Azerbaijani side called on Armenia to present a map of mined areas.

It should be recalled that at the end of 1987, the process of brutal deportation of Azerbaijanis from their historical lands began in the Gafan region of the Armenian USSR. In 1988-1989, Azerbaijanis living in different cities and regions of Armenia faced the same fate. More than 250,000 Azerbaijanis living in Armenia were forcibly expelled from their historical lands, 216 of them were brutally murdered, and 1154 were injured. They were forced to seek refuge in Azerbaijan to save their lives from Armenian violence.

Lachin, Kalbajar, Gubadli, Zangilan, Jabrayil, Aghdam (the district centre and a large part of its territory), Fuzuli (the district centre and a large part of its territory) of the Republic of Azerbaijan were occupied by Armenia in 1989-1993.

These territories, which have been under occupation for 30 years, are very rich in various types of construction materials, which are of great importance in the industry and construction of Azerbaijan.

In total, over the past 30 years, the number of landmine victims in Azerbaijan has been 3345. Since the end of the Patriotic War in 2020, 266 citizens have been harmed by landmine explosions, and 45 people, including 3 journalists, have died. Out of 45 people killed, 35 are civilians. In the last 30 years, 38 women and 357 children were injured by landmines.

On September 27, 2020, in response to the large-scale front-line provocation by the Armenian armed forces, the Azerbaijani Army launched a counter-offensive operation, later called "Iron Fist". The Patriotic War, which lasted for 44 days, resulted in the end of almost thirty years of occupation and the restoration of our territorial integrity. The magnificent Victory won under the leadership of the victorious Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev was written in golden letters in our history.
