The discussions were held at a meeting between Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov and Latvian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Edgars Skuja.Mammadov said that cooperation between the two countries is developing dynamically in all areas.
Azerbaijan and Latvia discussed the establishment of a joint working group on agriculture, EDnews informs, citing the Azerbaijani Agriculture Ministry.
Recalling that Azerbaijan has a reliable and favorable business environment, as well as great transit potential, the minister added that Latvian entrepreneurs can evaluate Azerbaijan's investment opportunities and make more extensive use of its transport and transit potential.
The meeting participants discussed issues such as strengthening cooperation and the legal and contractual framework in the agricultural sector, information exchange on products with high export potential, increasing trade turnover in agricultural and food products, expanding ties between business circles, participation of Latvian entrepreneurs in the Azerbaijan International Agriculture Exhibition, transfer of modern technologies and implementation of internship programs in scientific research and education in the agricultural sector.
The ambassador emphasized that Latvia is a friendly country with Azerbaijan and is interested in developing cooperation in all areas. He emphasized the great potential for expanding cooperation in the agricultural sector.
