On March 30, an art evening was held at Azerbaijan State Song Theatre named after Rashid Behbudov, the head of the American Mugham Society, a skilled performer of the Azerbaijani folk musical instruments, "Kamancha" and "Tar", Jeffrey Werbock.
Ednews reports that J. Werbock greeted the guests in Azerbaijani. The artist said that he came to Azerbaijan for the first time in 1989 and that he has close friends in Baku.
President of the International Eurasia Press Fund Umud Mirzayev also participated in the concert. In his speech, he talked about Jeffrey Werbock's love for Azerbaijan and his creativity.
"J. Werbock wrote a book called "Odlar yurdu Azerbaijan" (Land of fire Azerbaijan) in the 90s. There was Modric Hauzish from Latvia and Richard Lapaitis from Lithuania. These people are famous. All our sides were enemies. Thankfully, Azerbaijan's friends are increasing today. There are many people who want to come to the country. At that time, coming to Azerbaijan required courage."
Later, at the concert, U. Mirzayev presented J. Werbock with the Cultural Ambassador award of the International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF).
J.Werbock performed the "Segah" mugham on the "kamancha", and various pieces from other "Mughams" on the "Tar".
