The State Border Service has continued measures to ensure reliable protection of the state border, fight against smuggling, illegal migration, and the illegal circulation of drugs over this June, Ednews reports that press service of the State Border Service told this.
During the month, 40 people were detained for violating the state border, of them 19 were citizens of Azerbaijan, 9 of Pakistan, 4 of Turkiye, 4 of Afghanistan, 1 of Ukraine, 1 of Iran and 2 of India.
As part of measures to combat illegal migration, 25 people tried to cross the state border with fake date stamps, forged passports and documents belonging to others.
973 people were detained for violating the rules of the border regime and appropriate measures were taken against them.
As a result of anti-crime measures, 298 wanted persons were discovered by the law enforcement bodies of Azerbaijan and handed over to the relevant authorities, 532 persons prohibited from leaving the country, and 19 persons banned from entering Azerbaijan were prevented.
