Messi is a one-club man having spent his entire career at Barcelona.
And the Argentine is the same when it comes to his wife, having had eyes for just one woman his whole life. Lionel Messi married his long-time partner Antonella Roccuzzo in June 2017 having known each other since the age of five. The couple have three sons - Thiago, Mateo and Ciro - and went public with their relationship in 2008.
Messi was childhood friends with Antonella’s cousin Lucas Scaglia and they have now been married for almost two years. Messi knew he wanted to date Antonella Rocuzzo from a young age with the pair spending plenty of time together. And though they were just friends, the Barca star wanted more and is known to have often written letters to Antonella when he was young.
In the notes, he once told her that when they grow up, she will be his girlfriend. Messi got his wish with Antonella becoming an integral part of his life. That’s despite spending a number of years apart when Messi left Argentina to move to Barcelona.
He kept in touch with his friends though and struck up a relationship with Antonella and she soon moved to the Catalan city.
She has had a variety of career ambitions having initially studied to become a dentist before dropping out for social communication. While her husband Lionel Messi strikes up a partnership with Luis Suarez on the pitch, Antonella is business partner with Suarez’s wife.
They opened their boutique shoe store in Barcelona in 2017 with their store the first in Europe of popular South American designer Sarkany.
Lionel Messi and Antonella Roccuzzo got married in Messi’s hometown of Rosario in Argentina. Over 250 guests were invited with the likes of Neymar, Suarez and Gerard Pique all attending.

The pair don’t often speak publicly about each other though both of their latest Instagram posts are images of their family. And though the pair are happy with their family, Messi wants a daughter.
He said: “Yes, I want a nena [girl], we are happy with the birth of Ciro but we want a nena now.
“As a father, I am what I learn at home. I try to be a reflection of what the kids teach me. And I help Anto.”
