Minister of Information and Social Development of Kazakhstan Dauren Abayev on October 17 told about the ban on providing loans to low-income families in the interview with the state-run TV Channel Khabar.
“A certain financial culture should be formed in Kazakhstan. We often face with the situations, when loans are taken for organization of feasts or purchase of last models of some telephones, therefore, the National Bank and Chairman Erbolat Dosayev today are doing the right job,” he said.
In summer 2019, debts on low-income Kazakhstanis’ loans were written off. More than 100 billion tenge were allocated for these purposes.
The government has strengthened measures on support of low-income families, Abayev noted.
