Georgia has reported 16 new cases of the coronavirus earlier today, bringing the total number of cases to 230, EDNews.net reports citing Agenda.ge.
Of the 230, 54 individuals have recovered, three people have died and two others were foreign citizens who left the country last month.
As of today Georgia has 171 active cases of the virus.
Two of the 16 new patients are Georgian truck drivers who tested positive for the virus in Armenia.
One woman tested positive for the virus in Terjola municipality, western Georgia.
The source of the infection has not been identified.
4,829 are under quarantine and 410 in hospitals in the country.
More than 1.6 million people have been infected with the virus worldwide as of April 9, 95,766 have died of the virus,while 357,003 have recovered.
As for neighbouring countries Turkey has had 42,282 cases, Armenia 921 - cases, Azerbaijan - 926 cases and Russia - 10,131 cases.
