The only issue at hand is that all citizens in Armenia with the coronavirus can receive proper medical care; that is, as many people get sick as there are beds in the country’s hospitals. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan announced about this on his Facebook livestream Saturday morning, EDNews.net reports citing News.am

"That is, if in the past those people had to seek medical help over the course of one year, now they seek medical help within a month. Now, if patients with the coronavirus are not hospitalized, our mortality rates will increase. People will die due to not receiving proper medical care. There is a way to solve this problem: we must minimize the possibility of infecting others.

Today, there are 20 to 25 [thousand] or even, possibly, 30,000 asymptomatic [COVID-19] cases in the country.

Statistics show that in the case of proper medical care, 5 percent of patients reach severe and critical condition, and 1 to 1.2 percent die. If 5 percent of 10 thousand is 500 people and 1.2 percent is 120 people, then 5 percent of 100 thousand [people] is already 5,000 people. Our healthcare system cannot serve 5,000 people in severe condition," he added, in particular.
