Eurasia Diary reports, Amina Chawahir Mohamed Jibril is a Kenyan lawyer, diplomat and politician was nominated by Kenya for the position of WTO Director-General.
As of 18 September 2020, Mohamed has proceeded to the second round of the selection process, and continues to be seen as a frontrunner in diplomatic circles.
She is presently serving as the Cabinet Secretary for Sports, Heritage and Culture in Kenya.
She previously served as chairwoman of the International Organization for Migration and the World Trade Organization's General Council, as well as Assistant Secretary-General and Deputy Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme.
