The President of Turkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who visited the quake-hit region today, met with the staff of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, who provided humanitarian aid to the brotherly country upon the instructions of the First Lady of Azerbaijan, Mehriban Aliyeva, at Gaziantep airport, Ednews reports, citing Report.
The representative of the Foundation Elvin Aslanov said that all the people of Azerbaijan, all organizations of the country are mobilized to provide the necessary assistance to Turkiye.
Erdogan, expressing his gratitude for the mobilization of the Azerbaijani state and people around the tragedy in Turkiye, said:
"I thank my brother Ilham and my sister Mehriban on behalf of myself and my nation!"
Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that he is aware of the people of Azerbaijan's participation in the humanitarian aid for the earthquake victims and the aid to be sent and noted that Azerbaijan stands by Turkiye in this difficult time, just as Turkiye stood by Azerbaijan during the Patriotic War: "We will be together not only today but until we die. We will continue as one nation, two states!"
