World A- A A+
Finland has started the construction of a three-kilometer test section of the wall it will build on the border with Russia.

Ednews.net reports that the construction works started on February 27 in the Imatra border crossing point district.

During the test, it will be checked whether the barrier can withstand the winter temperatures and snow mass, as well as the possible influx of people from Russia. The authorities of the republic allocated 6 million euros for the construction of the wall, which will be completed in 2023.

Finland has a 1,300-kilometer border with Russia. It plans to build a barrier equipped with technical control systems on 10-20 percent of the border within two to three years.
